“My husband, Don, my son, Mark and I joined Peoples Temple in 1968 when the Redwood Valley church opened. I was a telephone secretary and soon became the housing coordinator, putting people together for overnight when we went out of town. During the healing service we wrote down everything Jim did. Both Don and I drove buses and enjoyed the fun we had. When I began working in the Publications department, I had to quit my job and work full-time. I ran the press, a Chief 15, which Jim sent me to LA to learn. Following my escape from Peoples Temple in 1976, I spent several years volunteering for the ‘Hot Line’ in Reno and counseled adults and children who had been abused. I retired as a paralegal.”
