Using the example of Chile’s recent history as a point of departure, an article – read by Jim Jones – warns of the rise of fascism in South America.
The tape was recorded in Jonestown. There are no references to any current events to give it a context.

Date of transcription: 6/25/79
In connection with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s investigation into the assassination of U.S. Congressman LEO J. RYAN at Port Kaituma, Guyana, South America, on November 18, 1978, a tape recording was obtained. This tape recording was located in Jonestown, Guyana, South America, and was turned over to U.S. Officials in Guyana and subsequently transported to the United States.
On June 10, 1979, Special Agent (name deleted) reviewed the tape numbered 1B102-C26. This tape was found to contain the following: Side A containing Russian words and phrases and a JONES lecture on “Fascism”. Side B contains a few songs, but is largely blank.
