Hello Ron,
With all of the misunderstanding, negativity and hostility the victims of Jonestown have had to endure, having a memorial to honor the lives of those who died in Jonestown provides some dignity to the people who died there.
The grieving process for those of us who survived Jonestown and for those who were not members of the People Temple, but had relatives there, has been a very difficult process. For many people, their entire support structure was destroyed along with having to deal with the on going stigma of how most people viewed Peoples Temple.
This is a significant opportunity for the families of the people who lost their lives to pay respect to their loved ones.
Sincerely,
Mike Carter
