Jonestown Petition to Block Rep. Ryan

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the residents of the Jonestown community and the Board of Directors of Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ Church, respectively, have resolved:

1. That individual residents will not see or communicate with any person who comes to the North West District together with, or in association with, Congressman Leo Ryan, any member of the so-called “Concerned Relatives” organization, or persons associated with either of them.
2. That the boundaries of the Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ Lease of State Land for Mixed Family Purposes constitutes the boundaries of the exclusive residence of the members of the Jonestown community who exert their right, formalized by Resolution of the Board of Directors, under the Law of Guyana to exclude therefrom all persons who presence is not considered desirable (excluding officials of the Guyanese Government).

And therefore serve notice that any person described in Paragraph 1 above will not be permitted entry within the boundaries of the said Peoples Temple leasehold, or other Peoples Temple properties, and, further, that the Jonestown community has requested police assistance from the Government of Guyana to protect their community from unwanted trespasses.
