In response to a telephone call on the evening of December 19, 1978, [line of identifying information deleted], was interviewed on December 20, 1978 as follows:

She is [2 lines deleted] and resides with husband, [name deleted, Philadelphia. During course of business on December 18, 1978, she handled a change of title for 1961 Ford registered to [name deleted], Philadelphia, PA. [name deleted] stated to her “How is your son? You’re the journalist’s mother, aren’t you? That was your son in Guyana?”.

[name deleted] replied courteously and he responded, “I was in journalism, I shot some films in Guyana.” [name deleted] thought nothing unusual of the conversation as she appeared on three major networks Philadelphia television stations on December 17 and 18, 1978, for a short news item referring to her as the [several words deleted], in connection with news media activity in captioned matter. [name deleted] currently staying with sister in New Jersey last contacted parents on Thanksgiving and is expected to be together with them for Christmas holidays according to [name deleted]. At the urging of her husband, she states that she notified our office.

[name deleted], Negro male born [date deleted] at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, residing [address deleted] in Philadelphia is self-employed at [business deleted] in Philadelphia, PA., business telephone number [deleted] was interviewed at his parents’ residence [address deleted], Philadelphia, PA. He states he has never been to Guyana and has no knowledge of captioned matter except what has been reported in news media. [name deleted] says he knows [name deleted] from a brief acquaintance in 1972 as they lived in the same neighborhood and he

is a former photojournalism student. He said he is aware [name deleted]’s mother works at the real estate office referred to herein. He has also spoken with a girl he knows from school who formerly lived in Guyana but has been in Philadelphia since 1975. He states she has no knowledge of the People’s Temple there and has never been in the area of Jonestown. The above is submitted for information and record and no further inquiry is contemplated.
