For information of Alexandria, ham radio operator [name and address deleted], Potomac, Maryland, advised Baltimore Division that some time in February, 1978, [name deleted], OBGYN News (medical newspaper), solicited [name deleted]’s help in contacting the mission village of the Peoples Temple to do an in-depth study of the people in the village. [name deleted] was interested in the lifestyle of these people and their operations there. [name deleted] conversation with the mission village lasted approximately one hour, after which they discouraged [name deleted] from going to Guyana to

study them. They advised [name deleted] at that time that the Peoples Temple had 1.4 million members, 1,200 of which were at the mission village. [name deleted] was reportedly located at Coral Gables, Florida, and employed by the National Enquirer.
Inquiry of National Enquirer, Lantana, Florida, disclosed no National Enquirer offices in Coral Gables, Florida. A check of Coral Gables telephone listings disclosed no listing identical with [name deleted] (protected), National Enquirer, advised [name deleted] not regular employee of National Enquirer but has written at least one article for them in the past. Last known address for [name deleted] is [deleted] Arlington, Virginia.
