On December 4, 1978, USA [United States Attorney], San Francisco, advised he received a telephone call from Mark Lane on Sunday, December 3, 1978, at which time Lane proposed that he and Terry Buford meet with USA within the next two or three days at Denver, Colorado. This overture was made by Lane due to the fact that USA, on December 1, 1978, had informed Lane that due to business commitments he could not meet with Lane in Memphis. USA stated that it is obvious Lane is most anxious for a personal contact.
USA, following conference with SAC and appropriate personnel, SFO, December 4, 1978, stated he would contact
