Richard Janaro, Claire Janaro, and Helen Swinny [Swinney], arrived at JFK Airport, Pan American Airlines flight 228, 7:40 PM, December 10, 1978.
Claire Janaro, white female, DOB February 21, 1939, advised that she and husband, Richard Janaro formerly administrated a home for retarded children for the People’s Temple (PT) at Happy Acres Ranch, 2451 Road K, Redwood Valley, California. Ranch now administered by [name deleted]. Janaro believes

church records have been destroyed at this ranch.
Janaro advised she arrived Georgetown, Guyana, on Saturday, November 18, 1978, from San Francisco and after learning of the assassinations and mass suicides, flew to Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, to join her husband, Richard, who was aboard the Albatross.
Janaro further advised she was a purchasing agent for the PT in San Francisco, and not part of the “inner circle” around Jones. Janaro provided the following names as being knowledgeable of PT operations:

Sharon Amos
Tom Adams (radio operation, San Francisco)

Janaro further advised that Debbie Blakely [Blakey] was a defector

from PT and should possess knowledge which would aid in investigation. Janaro further advised that FNU [first name unknown] Parks, wife of Dennis Parks, is a defector from PT and has received threatening phone calls from PT members. Parks listed as contact point for Edith Parks, 319 Jones Street, Ukiah, California, (707) 462-6323.
Helen Beatrice Swinney, white female, DOB October 21, 1912, was unable to provide any positive information. Swinney advises she was purchasing agent with the ship Albatross. Contact point [name and address deleted], Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, [phone deleted].
Richard Janaro, white male, DOB February 3, 1927, advised he was purchasing agent for PT at Georgetown and only visited Jonestown twice while associated with PT. Describes PT in Jonestown as compartmentalized. Advised was with ship Albatross at Port-of-Spain when assassinations and suicides took place. Denies knowledge of “Angels,” weapons cache, or assassination plans. States he would not have been privy to such information.

Janaro also advised that Larry Schact’s [Schacht’s] education was financed by PT. Contact point in California will be care/of [name and address deleted] Studio City, California.
Janaros and Swinney remained in New York City area evening of December 10-11, 1978, in care of [name and address deleted], Bronx, New York, [telephone deleted].
Flight plans for Swinney and Janaros not finalized at this time.
