I had the pleasure of working with Bob in Texarkana at KLLI. Bob and I became fast friends and we enjoyed fishing after work. Bob once said to me, “Do you know when you have a good friend? It’s when you can silent and not feel you have to keep talking.”
Bob adopted me and my wife and daughter. We spent a lot of time at his home. Beverly would cook for us. I cannot say enough good things about Bob. He told me he wanted to one day write a book about his experiences. I wish he did. I remember when he had brain surgery and the days afterward. Bob took time off work and helped me move to Houston. I remember the brakes went out on the truck we were driving. Thankfully we didn’t have an incident.
I miss Bob. He was like a brother.
