The Open Door (Text)

In the body or out of the body; You have not left God.

Ephesians 4:7-11. But each of us has been given mercy in Christ’s generous measure. So it says, “When he went up on high, he led a host of captives, And gave gifts to mankind.” What does “he went up” mean, except that he had first gone down to the under parts of the earth? It is he who went down who has also gone up above all the heavens, to fill the universe. And he has given us some men as apostles, some as prophets, some as missionaries, some as pastors and teachers, in order to fit his people for the work of service, for building the body of Christ, until we all attain unity in faith, and in the knowledge of the son of God, and reach mature manhood, and that full measure of development found in Christ. “That He might fill the universe the fullness of Him that filleth all and in all–” Christ is the door. You must come in at the door. My God is so high, you can’t get over Him – therefore you can soar as high as you want too [to]. You may ascend – you may descend. You may explore the heights and the depths and the length and the breadth. You may go forward or backward – you cannot miss God if you come in at the door through Jesus the Christ. You can explore God for He is the fullness that filleth all and in all and through you all. In Him we live and move and have our being. Paul said, “I will go on to visions and revelations given me by the Lord. I know of a man fourteen years ago – whether in the body or out of it I do not know, God knows – being actually caught up to the third heaven. And I know that this man – I do not know whether it was in the body or out of it, God knows – was caught up into Paradise, and heard things that must not be told, which no human being can repeat.” Paul was exploring in the heights. David said, “If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.” He was exploring the depths and found God there. Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.” Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. He was exploring time and space looking forward. And Jesus said, “I tell you, I existed before Abraham was born!” Before Abraham was, I am. He was covering all time and space. The fullness of Him that filleth all and in all. The way in – through the door, that I may know him in the heights and the depths and the length and the breadth of being in God who hath ascended on high and giving gifts to man that he might through the manifestation of the gifts in operation – “As every man hath received the gift, even so ministered the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifest grace of God.” – perfecting the church. As each one has received the Gift so let him minister that all may learn and all may grow thereby and all may be edified and grow up in love in Him who filleth the whole universe. The fullness of him that filleth all in all who is in you all and through you all and above you all. “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” For it is in Him we live and move and have our being. For thus he will show us knowledge in the face of Jesus Christ who is the way – the truth – the light – the chief corner stone of the heavenly Jerusalem, with the twelve apostles for foundation stones, the twelve tribes of Israel as gates to the city, salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. “Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities; thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken. But there the glorious Lord will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship passed thereby.” No work built by man can stand in the place where the city of the Most High is being revealed. So do not be afraid or terrified at heart, but go in, explore, and see the splendor and greatness of the building, as far as the sight of your eyes can see, and afterward you will hear as much as the hearing of your ears can hear. “See I am placing in Zion a cornerstone, chosen and valuable, and he whose faith rests on Him shall never be disappointed. Behold, I have set before thee an open door and no man can shut it. Re[velation] 8:8. The church of the open door is that of Philadelphia, which is the church are brotherly love.

The door is open so wide that all races, creeds and colors, find a hearty welcome to come in relax, meditate and worship God.

The same Pharisee spirit that was so prevalent in the days of Christ is still a-bounding today and would seek to close the Open Door but thank God, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and no man shutteth, is still on the throne.

In Jn. [John] 17 Our Lord in his highpriestly prayer, prayed for his people to be ONE; not a multitude of denominations and organizations, each one claiming to be The Body and at the same time manifesting that Pharisee spirit of competition, strife, envy, and carnality.

Paul in his letter to the Corinthian Church admonished them to abolish division, saying, “If one say I am of Paul, and another, I am of Appolos, are yet not carnal and walk as men?”

If the great Apostle Paul could take a walk thru [through] organized religion of today with its many divisions of Methodist, Baptist, Penticost [Pentecost], Trinity and Oneness, with their high sectarian walls he would surely say, Ye are Carnal.

The whole cause of all the distress that is in the world is all because of the condition existing in the church.

The Lord speaking through Isaiah says “For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance and the year of recompence [recompense] for the controversy of Zion (the church)”. Is. 34:8.

He also says, he will bring against thee a nation from afar and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates until thy High Fenced Walls (organizations) come down where in thou trusted. De. 28:52.

If man could only see the folly of their sectarian walls they would gladly bring them down so that the Lord would not have to bring that heathen nation (communism) to perform his will.

He says the Assyrian is the rod of his indignation. Is. 10:5. If that be true so is communism his rod of correction which he will bring against the church in order to tear down man’s carnal sectarian systems which divide the body of Christ.

The church with the Open Door urges you to lay aside all malice all strife and division and come let us worship together for united we stand, devided [divided] we fall. We have one common enemy and instead of fighting each other let us join our forces against the enemy.

The spirit of anti-Christ (communism) is sweeping the world, bringing the body of anti-Christ, (the communist party) together, just as the spirit of Christ is bringing the Body of Christ, together.

Soon the entire world will once again be faced with a tremendous issue; which will it be Christ or Barabus [Barrabas], (christianity or communism).

Christ in you is your only hope.

Jesus said, I am the Door; by me if any man enter in he shall be saved. Jn. 10:9.
