In Memory of Kay Francis Curry Henderson

When I think of you, I see your beautiful smile and the sparkle in your eyes. I will miss your laugh and charming ways, but most of all, I remember your strength and courage in all matters of life. When we didn’t see eye-to-eye on things, we agreed to disagree and never let that get in the way of our friendship.

I’m blessed to have had you in my life. You cared enough about me and had the strength and courage to tell me Jim’s plan to send me to Guyana on my eighteenth birthday “without Cynthia.” You could have kept quiet about it, but you said I deserved to have a choice in this. I was so afraid, and you were the one I called on. Thank you for your love and friendship throughout the years.

I will see you again, my friend. It’s just goodbye for now.
