Remembrances |
|
“Gene and Phylis were friends of mine when I lived in Northern California. They were gentle sweet people, and Gene was my teacher in Transendental Meditation. I often baby sat for them as well. I am still grieved over the senseless loss of these two beautiful people and thier children, thirty one years later. After they became members of the Peoples Temple in Ukiah, California, I tried to go and visit them. I was turned away at the gate by armed guards, telling me that I would have to call and make an appointment, and it had to be approved by Jim Jones. I knew something was terribly wrong then. I will always remember them with a great deal of fondness. ” - Sandra Crane“ Eugene Chaikin: A Story from Jonestown ” - Bonnie Yates“ In Memory of Gene and Phyllis Chaikin ” - Sandra Crane“ The Loss of My Dear Friends” - Sandra Crane |
