While letters to Claire Janaro from Marlene Tarver were lengthy and detailed – and dated – a second set of letters to Claire echoes the same affection that the young adult alumni of the Ranch felt for her.
Christine Talley was 20 years old when she arrived in Jonestown in August 1977. The letters below do not include enough context to indicate their sequence. They also contain none of the glowing accolades for life in Jonestown or effusive gratitude to Jim Jones for bringing them there. Instead, they are written as updates on the lives of children to a woman who loved them all and who is still in the States.
