ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
-Terry Fletcher of Terrance Fletcher Associates (Consulting Engineers) called asking for Richard Janero
-Terry’s number is 66772 (office) or 72571 (Home)
-he said he had received a letter from PT (on PT letterhead) but that it was unsigned but he thought Richard would be the one to talk to
-he said that he will be in the Northwest in August (end of August) and that he can give some voluntary service (I asked first what he charges or does he do volunteer work)
-he said that he works mainly with the govt. as a consultant
-he said that information had been requested about solar enrgy and crop drying and Fletcher said that there had been the wider question in the letter of relating to the entire energy system
-he said he could look at the global energy demands and the potential wood emphasis
-he said some energy could be substitued/ use wodd for generating electricity
-he said that he was told in the letter about 300 acres that were just cleared and he wanted to know if they were cleared for agriculture, residential or what combination
-he said that he’d need to know what the total amount of land is that is available to PT
(I didn’t answer any questions, just said I’d call him back)
-he said he has done some work with coops/ he did a publication for the Ministry
of Coops and National Mobilization awhile ago called “A Manual for Maintenance of the Intrastructure”
-he said he [r]eceived the letter from us 25/6/78
a couple of days later a Mr. Vahrman who works with Univ. of Guyana called
-he said that Terry Fletcher had told him about us and that Vahrman is doing a project with charcoal and he could arrange to meet someone in regard to our requirements for energy
-he works at the University Chemistry Dept
-said we could call him 63154 (home) before 9 AM or between 1 and 2 after 7:30
(after talking to Carl Grenich, GBS and Univ. Of Guyana – and hearing he came in with this group studying charcoal, I wondered if there was any connection) – Urmia Johnson of the WRSM said that Univ. Of Guyana is a rather conservative place/ it was traditionally conservative with few blacks/ now that is being remedied somewhat
