SUBJECT: JUDICIAL ASSISTANCE TREATY
During December 18 meeting on Peoples Temple account (Panama 9219), Panamanian Banking Commission Executive Secretary De Diego lamented absence of treaty arrangement whereunder GOP [Government of Panama] could provide assistance to USG [U.S. Government]. Panamanian Banking Commission has now asked for a copy of the US-Swiss Judicial Assistance Treaty. Would appreciate guidance on action we should take.
