[line deleted regarding Jeanette Kerns], California, age 23, interviewed December 19, 1978, and advised as follows:

She was member of People’s Temple (PT) from early 1969 when she was 13, until January of 1973, when she voluntarily defected. Her mother, [Ellen Louise “Penny” Kerns], and a sister [Carol Kerns] died at Jonestown.

She has no pertinent information regarding Laurence E. Schacht, alleged doctor of James Jones.

[Name deleted], who defected three to four years ago and had black belt in karate and taught karate to PT guards.

Persons on PT Planning Commission when she was in church were Sharon Linda Amis [Amos] – killed in Guyana; Archie Ijames – PT Corporation owner and presently located at PT in San Francisco; Wayne Pietela – defector, address unknown; Don and Bonnie Beck – husband and wife, location unknown; Grace Stone [Stoen] – defector, probably in San Francisco; Jack Beam, Sr., – killed in Guyana; Karen and Carolyn Layton – both mistresses of Jones, probably deceased; Al and Jeannie Mills – known in PT as Mert and Deanna Myrtle [Mertle], defectors and now operating “Human Freedom Center”, 3028 Regent Street, Berkeley.

She also made the following persons as those she considered dangerous hard-core followers of Jones and possibly dangerous if they returned to the United States: Archie Ijames, Michael Prokes, and Larry Layton – both being held in Guyana; Terry [Terri] Buford – former mistress of Jones, location unknown.

She listed as principle [principal] aides of Jones while she was in the church, the following: Archie Ijames, Jack Beam, Linda Sweeney Dunn, Carolyn Layton, and Grace Stone.

Those she recall as being on the PT Security Force were: Larry Layton – being held in Guyana; Johnnie [Johnny] Brown, location unknown; Ted Ballard, possibly in San Francisco; Harold Cordell – deceased.
