On December 29, 1978, George Bertis [Berdes], House Committee on International Relations investigator, advised he and two associates, Ibo [Ivo] Spalatin and Tom Smeeton, would arrive at San Francisco on January 3, 1979. They have office space in Room 11040, Federal Office Building (in which FBI is housed) and will use this as a base from which to conduct their investigation.

Bertis advised he has a letter from Robert Keuch, USDOJ, which allows FBI to cooperate with him. He has requested a meeting with ASAC Lawler on Thursday, January 4, 1979, at 9:30 AM, to discuss the Ryan assassination in general.
