The following is being forwarded to the Bureau for appropriate transmittal to Legat, American Embassy, Georgetown, Guyana.
Upon reinterview with Julius Evans, he advised that he was a respitory [respiratory] therapist while at the PT commune in Jonestown. On November 18, 1978, he and his family in the early morning hours departed the commune, ostensibly to go on a picnic, but actually to escape. They made their safe escape

through the jungles. Evans stated that he had nothing to do with the mixing nor did he have any knowledge of the suicide potion. During the night prior to the assassination of Congressman Ryan, Evans advised that he could find himself to his living quarters, and did not attend the communal gathering which was held that night.
Evans advised that it is his personal opinion that Reverend or Mrs. Jones mixed the potion as Jones would not trust anyone with such a task.
