Stephen Gandhi Jones appeared at American Embassy at Georgetown on February 9, 1979, and obtained passport applications. He indicated to consular officials that he intended to travel to the United States in the near future.
Arrangements made with consular officials in order that FBI be immediately advised if Jones traveled to the United States. Both Pan American Airways and Guyanese immigration officials have been alerted to advise consular officials in the event Jones or any other members of the Peoples Temple make reservations or indicate they will travel to the United States.
