Re Bureau airtel, 2/8/79; Associated Press Story in captioned matter.

Referenced article apparently based on media interview of Harold Cordell and is basically factual with the exception of the last paragraph, wherein it states, “newspaper said Federal authorities believe the drum contains cyanide used to spike the punch that killed Colony members.”

For information of the Bureau, [name deleted] been interviewed by FBI [name deleted], Federal Grand Jury, San Francisco and Federal authorities i.e. FBI, San Francisco, do not believe drum contains cyanide and have been advised by Cordell that in fact it did not contain cyanide. Source and shipment of cyanide used is unknown.
