Re Butel to Caracas dated 12/19/78.

For the information of the Budget and Accounting Section, the following is a recapitulation of cost data in the RYMUR case as extended by the Legal Attaché Office at Caracas.

Expenses of employees while on special assignment at Georgetown, Guyana

Legat Robert K. Oglesby, Jr., GS-15, at Georgetown November 20, 1978, to February 10, 1979.

Assistant Legat, Dwight G. Garretsen, GS-14, at Georgetown December 20, 1978, to January 3, 1979.

Secretary-Steno [name deleted], GS-7, at Georgetown November 20, 1978, to December 20, 1978.

In addition to the above and following instructions from FBIHQ in this matter, there were twice daily telephone calls made from Georgetown to Washington, DC during the period November 30, 1978, to February 10, 1979. Due to delayed billing practices by the Guyana telephone company, these bills will be delayed up to four months and Embassy at Georgetown upon receipt will charge these to FBI symbol 1590200 and furnish an accounting.

Also charged to symbol 1590200 were the following sums:

December 27, 1978 – Seven cases of documents shipped from Georgetown to San Francisco and four cases of tapes shipped from Georgetown to Washington, DC.

January 19, 1979 – Fifteen cases of documents shipped from Georgetown to San Francisco.

January 30, 1979 – Seven cases of tapes shipped from Georgetown to Washington, DC.

As specific charges and sums are received from the embassy of Georgetown, these will be furnished to the Budget and Accounting Section.
