Re FBI Lab Report 81219043 SNM, dated 12/22/78.
Enclosed for Lab [handwritten insertion: “under separate cover”] is one bullet removed from arm of Congressional Aid [Aide] Jackie Speier. Gunshot wound received during the People’s Temple assault at Port Kaituma, Guyana on November 18, 1978, which resulted in the murder of Congressman Leo J. Ryan and others.
Speier has furnished bullet on condition that it be returned expeditiously on completion of examination.
Lab is requested to compare enclosed bullet with K4-K35 of referenced Lab Report in effort to determine origin. Lab is requested to return specimen to San Francisco as soon as possible.
