Attached for the Director and for Mr. Adams is one copy of a transcript of a tape recording made by Jonestown residents depicting the final hour of their existence during the administration of cyanide.
On 12/15/78, a copy of the above transcript was personally furnished to Michael Abbell, Criminal Division, Department of Justice, by SA [Name deleted]. Mr. Abbell was advised that the State Department had made a formal request of the FBI for this transcript, and inasmuch as it represented evidence developed during an FBI investigation, dissemination to the State Department was being left to the discretion of the Department of Justice.
