SUBJ: BEIKMAN’S TRIAL ANNOUNCED
1. The Chronicle newspaper carried a story on Wednesday, January 30, 1980, indicating that Mr. Beikman’s trial will begin on Tuesday, February 5, 1980.
2. The case will be heard before, High Court Justice Ivan Churaman.
3. While it cannot be confirmed, it is almost certain that an agreement has been reached between the GOG [Government of Guyana] and the defense which would involve the guilty plea on the count of attempted murder against Stephanie Jones.
