Your correspondence dated January 21, 1980, requesting assistance regarding the letter which Mr. [Kenneth Wooden] wrote on December 26, 1979, to the President, attention Mr. Stuart E. Eizenstat, has been referred to me for a response.
Mr. [name deleted] wrote a similar letter to Senator Edward M. Kennedy on December 12, 1979. When Senator Kennedy brought a letter to the attention of the FBI, Director William H. Webster had it reviewed and advised the Senator of the results in a letter dated January 25, 1980. Since Director Webster’s letter containing all the information which you now seek, I am enclosing a copy for your information. I am also returning Mr. [Wooden’s] letter and its enclosure.
