For information Bureau and Legat Bogota, SA Donald R. Hale and Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Dennis Michael Nerney will accompany American witness Vernon D. Gosney to Georgetown, Guyana, as requested by US Department of Justice, and the Government of Guyana, Director of Public Prosecution (DPP). Above is scheduled to arrive Georgetown on May 3, 1980, at 11:30 PM via Pan Am flight #227. American Embassy Georgetown is requested to make reservation for Gosney at the Pegasus Hotel and to advise DPP of Gosney’s

arrival to ensure police transportation and escort during stay in Guyana.

DPP should also be advised of SA Hale and AUSA Nerney’s arrival and attendance at the Layton trial and reiterated continuing US interest in Guyana prosecution as well as US Department of Justice commitment of total cooperation. Reservations for accommodations, and transportation assistance offered by American Embassy would be appreciated. SA Hale and AUSA Nerney will depart Guyana at conclusion of Layton trial and SA Hale will return via FBIHQ as requested.
