On November 24, 1980, subject Laurence John Layton appeared for preliminary hearing before Chief Judge Robert F. Peckham, US District Court, Northern District of California. Subject pleaded not guilty to all accounts [counts]. Hearing continued til December 4, 1980, at which time the subject will be afforded appointment of attorney, pre-trial conference for discussion of motions and setting of trial date. Layton continued in custody of US Marshal.
