Re SF telcall to BU and San Juan, December 1, 1980.

USA, San Francisco, G. William Hunter, AUSA Robert Dondero, Department of Justice Special Assistant Alan Sobol, and SA Donald R. Hale have rescheduled trip to Guyana. USA entourage will arrive Port France, Martinique, via San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Eastern flight 993 arrival time in Martinique of 9:01 PM on December 5, 1980. USA entourage will arrive Guyana for Martinique at 1:45 PM on December 8, 1980 via Air Martinique flight 363.

Consulate General Richard Dwyer, Martinique, is requested to make reservations for accommodations. Dwyer is requested to be available for conference with USA on December 6, or 7, 1980.

San Francisco is aware that Air Martinique is currently on strike or pending labor strike. Depending on air service of Air Martinique, US Consulate at its discretion should consider booking in behalf of USA entourage alternative travel plans from Martinique to Guyana to ensure arrival in Guyana no later than December 8, 1980.

American Embassy Georgetown is requested to obtain audience with Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) late afternoon or evening of December 8, 1980. Embassy is requested to charter aircraft for Port Kaituma on December 9, 1980, with ground transportation to Jonestown. Attorney scheduled to depart Guyana on December 10, 1980, however, Special Agent FBI will remain in Guyana for the purpose of liaison with DPP and Assistant Commissioner of Police [Skip Roberts], to collect evidence in possession of DPP and to review counselor prison visits on Larry Layton. American Embassy is requested to assist arrival, Customs-Immigration on December 8, 1980, and arrange accommodations.

FBI, San Juan, may desire to have liaison agent covering Guyana join entourage in San Juan or meet SA Hale in Guyana. San Juan agents presence in Guyana would be of assistance to SA Hale and would also afford liaison agent introduction to Embassy and Government of Guyana officials whose future contact in this matter will be necessary.

BU is requested to relay to State Department for immediate transmittal to US Consulate Martinique and American Embassy Georgetown.
