For the information of the Bureau, the Department of Justice, Special Security Office, Main Justice, is conducting security background investigation on [name deleted], born [date and place deleted], Northern District of California, related to upcoming trial of defendant Larry Layton, scheduled to commence 8/17/81.
Investigation by the Department of Justice determined that another individual bearing the name of [deleted], born [date and place deleted], has numerous drug arrests on his criminal history report on file at the Bureau. San Francisco has been requested to differentiate the identities of these two individuals.
Reference facsimile of the enclosed documents were forwarded to the Identification Section of the Bureau on 7/24/81, to compare the thumbprints against fingerprint card on file of FBI number [deleted] and furnish results of the examination to [name deleted], Special Security Office, Main Justice, Room 6525, Washington, DC, by EOB [end of business], on 7/27/81.
