Purpose is to request additional $5000 in cash in captioned case Field Support Account.
Case expenditures in this matter have been approximately $1500. Investigative matter is now reopened and is currently in the process of retrial. Case file Field Support Account currently carries a balance of $906.96. Additional funds will be necessary to cover expected expenses. Foreseeable expenses include numerous rentals of hotel rooms for debriefing of witnesses, purchase of clothing and other miscellaneous expenses for government witnesses in custody, compensation for lost wages, miscellaneous investigative expenses as other possible expenses yet unknown.
In view of the high publicity of the trial in the San Francisco area, and at the request of witnesses, hotel room will be used for debriefing purposes to minimize media contact as well as providing some comfort, privacy and convenience. Rental of rooms expected to be the most expensive monetary need and will be limited to need and authority of SAC [Special Agent in Charge].
The Bureau is requested to authorize additional $5000 case fund authority.
