That Pastor Jim Jones called me out and gave me a warning not to ride my horse until he was completely well broken.
About a week or two later after a full nights work I came home. I went out on a very busy curvy road and the horse reared up and fell on top of me. I was lying in the curvy road where all oncoming traffic should have hit me.
Pastor Jones was several hundred miles from the scene but called my neighbor, Eva Pugh, and told her what had happened to me and said for her to look out of doors to see my horse running by. She looked out and witnessed my horse running by.
She looked out and witnessed my horse running by her house just as he had said it would be. Pastor Jones told her to call my mother, Rosa [Rosie] Ijames, to go get me and take me to the Hospital, Ukiah Gen. Hospital in Ukiah, Ca.

That in 1969 in October Jim Jones called me out and told me of my mom, Pearlena Forney Thomas and my two dogs, Basey and Timmy. He then said, “Alfred and Alfreda. You have twins?” I said, “Yes.” He told me that my sister had died of cancer of the uterus. He told me to go to the bathroom and pass a cancerous growth from my uterus. I went to the bathroom and sat down. One of the nurses put some paper towels from the rack in the bathroom under my vagina. I felt this thing moving down from my uterus which felt like I was having a bowel movement. This thing was very black with a bloody mass at the end of it. It smelled terrible. I had just left the hospital a few weeks before. Dr. Calderwood, then the Chief of Staff at Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco, told me when I returned that he never expected to see me again.
Another time Jim Jones called my brother’s name, although he wasn’t there. Pastor Jones said to tell my brother to be in the next meeting. My brother did not go. Shortly after this my brother was attacked and caused him to sprain his ankle. On his way home he had groceries in his arms. He fell in Union Square Park. People came and took his groceries and left him there.

One of the nurses ran up to Pastor Jone [Jones] and told him that she was dead. He said, “bring her to me.” They brought her right up to the stage, Pastor Jones touched her on the head and told her to arise. She got right up and started running around the building thanking him for the healing she received.

In the Intensive Care Unit the Doctors who were there said that when I came out of my unconscious state (which I was unconscious for 16 hours) I would be a human vegetable. But at this same time Pastor Jim Jones told my parents that I would come out of the hospital totally whole with no aftereffects whatsoever. I went to school and graduated with good grades from Ukiah High School. I now have no problems at all from this.

Later on that week I was running at the Redwood Valley residence of A.J. Ijames and ran into a loose guywire and fell on an ax. I felt very ill and was vomiting and bleeding from my throat, but recovered within minutes.
I was also struck in the back by a stretched mooring line in Georgetown in the presence of dozens of witnesses, one of whom Compton Gonzales, who is not a member of Peoples Temple, said he couldn’t understand why I wasn’t hurt. Another man, Anthony Simon, says that I looked lifeless until the name Jim Jones was mentioned, whereupon I recovered.

I was one of those who were asked to stand. He expressed understanding and empathy. He then instructed us to place our cupped hands over our ears for about 6 seconds. When I removed my hands all sound was much louder and clearer. Indeed it took about 3 weeks to adjust to the loudness of sounds.

I did indeed have need to use a power mower that week and was ever so careful while the motor was running. However, my caution ended when I stopped the engine. While siphoning gas to refill the tank I got about a cup of gasoline up my nose and in my eyes. I received chemical burns which blinded me. I had a message sent to Pastor Jones. His reply was, “Do not worry, it will be all right.” Almost immediately the intense pain stopped, vision returned and within a few hours all traces of the burns were gone.

The hot metal burned into my eyeball missing the iris by a tiny fraction of an inch. I was taken to Ukiah General emergency where the doctor on duty examined my eye. The doctor expected he would have to use a needle to discharge the metal. To prepare the area he used a Que tip [Q-Tip]. He passed over the metal and it wiped right off. I know that Jim Jones protected my eye from being blinded and that he

So I told him he was not going to hit me in the head with his crutches. He swung two times at me and I pull the gun and the guy that was with me hit my hand and the gun went off. The bullet went through his legs. Just then another shot came at me. I ran down some steps that led to the playground area. I stopped there to yell for my mother. It was too late. 5 police came & grabbed me & threw me to the ground & handcuffed me. “Where is the gun?” they asked me. What gun I said. One police a black man hit me with a glove with steel in it and broke my jaw and my ribs then took me to jail. Thanks to Jim Jones I was out in a few hours my jaws and ribs were healed. My reply was yes, she said Rev. Jones asked me to call him and tell him not to go out in his car the next day, because if he did he would have an accident and get killed. His reply O thank, I just like to have had an accident and want to thank Rev. Jones. He also said he just like [to] have had an accident. He also said that if he had of gotten killed I would have died from the shock, of hearing of his death. We give thanks to Jim Jones from saving our lives, there isn’t another man in the world like Rev. Jones, there isn’t anything in the world to help him.

One evening in a meeting held at Peoples Temple in San Francisco CA I was getting ready to leave for work at 11:30 PM. I was going to walk to work that night. But before I had a chance to leave the meeting, Rev. Jim Jones called me by name, Rhonda Page. At first I didn’t respond, then Rev. Jones asked, Where is Rhonda Page. By this time I was down in front of him. Rev. Jones asked me, Who is Michael Hughes. I had to stop and think at the time I didn’t remember who Michael Hughes was.
[page 2 of affidavit]
After a few minutes of thought, I remembered he was an old friend of mine, that I had blocked out of my mind.
Rev. Jones told me I was going to be raped and killed by five men. [Marginal notation: “???”] Rev. Jones went into my past, and brought up what I had blocked out of my mind. This shows me that he knows all things.

So when the chest pain started I felt I was going to have a heart attack. Pastor Jim Jones called one of his associate ministers to him, talked to him and sent him to me with a message to just take my time and breathe slowly and everything would be all right. From that day on I have had no problem with my heart at all. I now work hours in the heat doing hard physical work and have no trouble at all.

That evening I was in service at Peoples Temple, and Pastor Jim Jones looked out at me in the congregation and told me “Don’t worry about what the Doctor told you, I’ll take care of it.” After that I felt fine, had lots of energy, and no further problem. Before coming here to Guyana, I went to Mt. Zion Hospital at Divisadero & Sutter in San Francisco and was given a clean bill of health & I was told I could go on this trip.

All [of] the sudden the car rolled over 6 times, and there was a telephone pole in the way. We called Jim 3 times and the car had gone around the pole. The car was totally out of control. I didn’t answer his question but he proceeded to tell me that there were people who cared for me, and assured me of the value of my life. Being a born cynic, sceptic [skeptic], and a critic I have gone over the situation with every consideration and have found no loophole. This was a thought that I expressed no one. I believe that Jim Jones has supranatural [supernatural] abilities that I cannot logically explain but I cannot disclaim with that same logic.

My mother had never seen those clothes before. He called my mother and said, “I want you to try to get your daughter to come – I don’t think she will but try or else she will meet with a terrible accident, the worst thing that you can ever think of.[“] We couldn’t get her to come so she was murdered in the most brutal way that you can imagine. Pastor Jones told my mother that the murderer would be found in 3 years. His wife confessed on the 8th of May in 1973 that her husband murdered my sister. His name was Stanley Nelson. He also confessed to the murder of two others. He is now in Vacaville prison serving a life sentence.

I am sure that if I would have listened to what Jim Jones said about not being around Beatrice Bell for a while, I would not have been at the place I was arrested. Jim Jones said that even though there were 3 or 4 eyewitnesses saying that I was guilty, he knew that I was innocent. He told me not to worry, that I would not go to jail. Jim Jones then got me a very good lawer [lawyer] and the charges ended up being dropped. If not for Jim Jones I know that I would have spent at least 5 years in prison.

In 1975, Mrs. Virginia Taylor, was going blind because she had cataracts in both eyes. Pastor Jones told her to go ahead and have surgery to correct her failing vision. The surgery was not as effective as it should have been and her recovery was further complicated by a clot in her eye.
Her eyesight was so bad that spring and summer, she had to be assisted wherever she went. Also she was terribly anxious and afraid. She is 87 and very independent, and hated the thought of becoming helpless and totally dependent on someone else.
Pastor Jones knew of her fear. He spoke very lovingly of her and the many things she had done since she’d joined the church. He spoke of her during service one evening, and said “I will not let her go blind!” Later she underwent further surgery in the other eye.
When next I saw her, she called me by name from across the room. She laughed when she saw my amazement. “Oh yes, I can see perfectly now.” She has had excellent vision since.

But due to Pastor Jones I went back to school and graduated from Ukiah Adult High School in the year of 1971. During the spring of (1973) one nine seven three, I received a long distance phone call from my father Glen Moton. I was staying in Redwood Valley, California at the time. He told me that my mother, Viola Mae Moton, was dying and the doctor felt that she would pass at any time.
Upon hearing this, I contacted Pastor Jim Jones, and informed him of the situation and requested that he pray and meditate on her behalf. He said that he would. That very evening while services at Peoples Temple were going on in San Francisco, California, my mother, Viola Mae Moton, started vomiting blood clots. After she had vomited up all of these clots, she recovered in a week. The doctors stated to my dad, Glen Moton, after she had recovered, that it was a miracle that she had recovered because they didn’t know what was wrong with her. In the following four years, there has never been a relapse of this illness. My dad, Glen Moton, tends to be a sceptic [skeptic] on such matters, but he was so impressed

by what had happened to my mother, Viola Moton, that he joined the church.

That in [date left blank] Jim Jones told Patricia Cartmell and I to please be very careful driving home from San Francisco back to Redwood Valley. Faith Kice rode with us. The road was wet and as we neared San Rafael on 101, a car was coming onto the freeway from a ramp into our lane – the right lane. There was another car in the lane next to us on the left. We were joking and listening to the radio and I saw the car coming into our lane. I said “Patricia, watch out for that car!” She put on the power brakes, skidded and swerved into the car next to us on the left which pushed us over into the middle barrier, then after hitting this, the car went into the middle lane and was spinning rapidly. There were cars on the freeway behind us traveling at high speeds around 60-70 mph, which should have been hitting us. As we were spinning it was as if the cars were further behind us yet coming towards us, I yelled Jim’s name twice and the car stopped spinning, facing the cars coming at us head on. Almost all the cars were stopped and a few drove around us at about 5 mph.
When we were pulled over with the policeman, about 15 minutes later another car, alone, with no cars behind or in front of it went past the same wet spot where we slipped and spun. It seemed for no reason that it lost control swerved back and forth
[page 2 of affidavit]
for about 1/4 mile up the road and finally it hit the center island and spun into the middle of the freeway. There were no cars behind it for at least 1/4 to 1/2 a mile but as we watched cars pass us, when they got to the spinning car about 6 cars smashed into this car which was in the same predicament as we had been only with more chance of avoiding the accident than we ever had. I know that because I called on Jim Jones that the three of us were saved from death or terrible injuries because we should have been smashed from all sides as the car was that passed this slick area 15 minutes later.

That in Dec. 1975 in L.A. Calif., Pastor Jim Jones stopped me after I had touched the altar with my 1 year old son Marlon Dietrich Porter, and told me that he had a heart defect that would cost him his life at an early age if not taken care of. After being given a cloth by Pastor Jones (that he had touched) for Marlon to wear, I was told to take him to the doctor and have his heart checked out. Two days later I took Marlon to Medical Consolidated Health Clinic of 38th & Vermont in Los Angeles, and insisted they check his heart thoroughly. After being given a series of tests, it was discovered that my son’s heart suffered a defect on one side, which caused it to be larger. No treatment was given because reason for defect was not established. I was told to bring him back for more tests in a week
(continued)
[page 2 of affidavit]
In the meantime the cloth was being worn by Marlon as Pastor Jones had instructed. When taken to the doctor a week later, and tests were done again, Marlon’s heart was normal and the doctor stated that he only needed more iron in his diet to finish regulating his heart before it would be normal.

I, Geraldine H. Bailey, duly sworn declare:
That in January of the year 1973, I was called out by Pastor Jim Jones, in the Los Angeles Temple, 1365 Hoover Street, and received a miraculous healing.
Pastor Jones told me that I had been having trouble with my throat. This was most definitely true, as I had been to the doctor for an x-ray of my esophagus area just the preceding week. The doctor arranged for me to begin treatment shortly after the x-rays were returned to him and stated that he would be able to diagnose the seriousness of my trouble at that time. However, before the time for my first treatment, I experienced the above-mentioned call. Pastor Jones informed me that I had applied for a divorce in 1971 and had paid $300.00 for the service performed by a law firm in Torrance, California. He named all four lawyers in the firm, exactly as they were listed on the letterhead. He also stated that my mother’s maiden name was Amanda Higgins. All of this
[page 2 of affidavit]
was true and nobody else in the building could have known all these things about my life.
Finally, one of the great miracles of my life was performed when Pastor Jones informed me that I had a cancerous growth in my throat and he was about to save me from a horrible tracheotomy that would have left me speechless and that I would have soon died a horrible death. He asked me to step into the aisle and began to regurgitate. I did as he told me and a nurse came to my side and held Kleenex under my mouth. After about the third attempt, I could feel a sensation of membranes ripping across my throat and I spit out the blood cancer into the Kleenex. I was then given a drink of grape juice and for the first time in several months I could swallow without pain. I had not been able to wear a high-necked dress nor a string of beads for several years, but from that moment on I have had no such trouble nor any sign of cancer in my throat.

That during the spring of the year one thousand nine hundred and seventy-two, Pastor Jim Jones prophesied to the congregation during a Wednesday night service in Redwood Valley, California, but there would be a terrible accident, a head on collision, in the area, and that we should pause for at least a two minute prayer so that we would always be in a reduced state of tension while driving.
Exactly one week later, six members of the congregation including myself were on our way to San Francisco, and we were running late for an important engagement there. In our impatience, we forgot the prophecy and was traveling along the freeway when one of our members reminded us that we should follow the advice of our pastor. So we pulled to the side of the road and did as he had told us. Immediately upon entering the freeway again, we came upon an accident which was a head-on collision just as had been described. Everyone perished in
[page 2 of affidavit]
this accident in which ten (10) people were killed. The Ukiah Daily [Journal] said that it was the worst accident that had happened in the area in a decade. If we had not paused as our pastor had told us, we would have been in the middle of the accident.

In 1971 at the end of February, I attended a meeting at the Peoples Temple in Redwood Valley, California. I was called out by Pastor Jim Jones and told about my father’s car accident in 1966, his death in 1967 and a Siamese cat I had in 1965. No one could have known these facts by any natural means. He then gave me a warning that, like my grandfather and father before me, I would have died as a result of a terrible car accident in which my wife and child would have also been killed. Pastor Jones assured me that everything would be all right. Only a few days later while driving down the California coast with my wife and child, a car coming in the opposite direction swerved straight in front of us. Suddenly a force grabbed the VW bus we were driving and pulled it out of the way of the other car. The cars passed within inches of each other but miraculously no damage occurred. The circumstances were just what Pastor Jones had

prophesied.

That on the 16th day of April 1975 I was saved from dying of a heart attack in my home at 1664 Page St. in San Francisco, Calif USA.
The details of this incident are as follows: several weeks before, Rev. Jim Jones had, during a Saturday night service at Benjamin Franklin School in San Francisco Ca called me up by revelation by the address “whose Father died in 1957, please stand.” I stood and Rev. Jones look at me a few seconds before declaring, “I’m saving you from dying of a heart attack on the 16th day of April this year” which was in 1975. I was given a red cloth by one of the nurses of the church and told to wear it, and is always from Pastor Jones states something about a matter it’s been proven to always speak truth.
The scene: I believe April 16th 12:00 AM was on a Sunday night-Monday morning. Church service was at Ben Franklin School on Geary St. San Francisco Ca. and it was the first of two services that day, near the close. Rev. Jones made the statement “everyone should go to the Valley (Redwood Valley, Ca)
