1. The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has requested the presence here of only one witness, Vern Gosney, for the upcoming trial of Larry Layton on the charge of attempted murder. The presence of Odell Rhodes is not necessary.
2. Embassy will assist FBI agent Buckley as requested.
3. Presumably the Department of Justice will eventually submit bills to the Embassy for

forwarding to the Guyanese authorities for the transportation and local lodging of the American witnesses. It is unlikely that the GOG would concur in launching Mr. Gosney at the Pegasus, Georgetown’s most expensive hotel, at GOG expense. While reservations have been made at the Pegasus as requested, the Embassy anticipates that the eventual reimbursement from the GOG will be somewhat less than actual costs.
