1. Embassy Georgetown does not have two checks described reftel. We have also search for checks from Houston to either Jim Jones or Peoples Temple and find none that relate.
2. Embassy is of course still in possession of many non-U.S. Treasury checks belonging to People’s Temple Agricultural Mission and its former members. We are also still in possession of US Government checks. All of these are in the custody of the present consul who will be departing post this summer for reassignment. Department is urgently requested to provide instructions concerning disposition of non-Treasury and Treasury checks.

4. Embassy Georgetown does not have copies of letters cited in reftel.
