Police Informants Tapes
Florence O’Brien: This was information about a dope ring and his name was Peaches, about 15 years ago. 96th St. & Compton.
Eddie Washington: March, called them someone stole my car. I don’t know who, but I had to get my car back. They found the car on Broadway.
Lourece Jackson: Call them on Jesse Lee Rulack cos he tried to break into my house. Also there was a gang shooting, but I didn’t tell the police my name. Saw a guy break into a neighbors house. Call the police on my brother cos he jumped on me to beat me up.
Ida Mae Clipps: Call them on Johnny Joseph Clipps, 54, cos he came home and tried to jump on me. 1954
Clarence Jonoway: Someone stole my ring, etc.
Rosie Mae Hines: Jan 72 someone tried to break it to my house, about 2 AM. Called my daughter and she called the police for me. Spring of 72 called the police cos I got locked out of my house.
Mary Ellen Cook: Feb. 5, 64. Man I was living with was always fighting. I called the police and they told me to put him out myself. His name was Johnny Thomas.
Mary Square: 1947, this man, Fleming Square jumped on me and was beating on me. The police came and did nothing. Then again in 1953, this man Jimmy D. Walker, tried to take my $ while he was living with me and I called the police for them to make them leave my home. Someone stole my purse when they broke into my house. Another time someone broke into my house and stole the TV.
Louise Ann Robinson: 1947 – Called the police on my Companion, cos he was jumping on me. Some boys were in the house next door ripping iy apart. Someone kept turning the hydrant on, the street was a muddy one, so I called the police on them. Man, Al Washington started a fight and Verna Brown was the boy that started the tearing up of the house.
Ben Robinson: 74 I was managing some apartments and some tenants complained about a young man loitering around the building, he was hostile when anyone came by. I spoke to him and he didn’t respond, he got angry and violent so I called the police. 4807 S. Gramercy Apt. 1
Edna Reed: My house was robbed, they. broke in through the window I called the police and they examined the place where they came, they had taken my purse and all of my identification.
Gustovie Gilliard: 1938, cap broke into my house broke into my house and stole all my clothes. When I got home he ran out and I called the police.
Ronnie Sli [Sly]: 1973, I was on the playground, on my way home and I was made to commit oral copulation. I came involved with the police and I had to go to court and answered some questions. The guys name was Kenny Kury, Trinity playground, LA
Lucy Miller: 1973, someone came into my house and stole $75. The welfare told me to call the police before they could do anything. Long Beach.
Maxine Reeves: Last Saturday, I saw a 16-year-old commit a crime outside on the sidewalk, in front of my building. Lady was sitting in her wheelchair and the boy ran by her and ripped her off, he stole her purse and consequently he pushed her out of her chair. Her hip was broken, she was taken to the hospital for surgery and may not even live. His name is Robert Mooralis, so I identified him to the police and the other 20 people that saw it would not identify him. So because of this several people came to me and threatened me. May 4, ’75.
Fannie Ford: 54 called the police on my friends, they were fighting in my bedroom. 55, called them on my husband, Willie Haygood, he wasn’t arrested, but sent to a mental hospital. 68, call them on a man that was drunk. His pants were dropping to the floor, and he was spitting on the counter.
