FBI Section 91 • J-1 • Medical Records

[Editor’s notes: This page was transcribed by Brittni Criglow, who provided the accompanying Excel chart and who wrote the explanatory note below. The editors are grateful for her invaluable assistance.

[The original document from which Ms. Criglow worked included several RYMUR file sheets added by the FBI. Those sheets have been removed from the PDF.]

FBI Section 91 was divided into three sections with the “J” designation and all labelled in the Guyana Index as “Medical Records.” Section J-1 – the first of three sections – consists of 131 pages. The complete PDF for this section as released by the FBI is here.

J-1 is a collection of pharmacy dispensary records. The records are organized by designation. The designations, in order, are Antihistamines [AH], Major Tranquilizers [MT], Minor Tranquilizers [T], and Pain Killers [N].

In general, each page includes the generic name of the medication, the pharmaceutical name, inventory date and count, amounts received and/or dispensed, and, when provided, names of places or people either receiving the medication or signing off of the receipt/dispensing of the medications.

Typically, the medication is listed as dispensed to the Nurse’s Office or NO. Some records include the medication being dispensed to a person, to Dr. Schacht’s office, to a Guyanese guest/patient, the Emergency Kit, the Piggery, or there is no record listed. I have included any names listed though several were illegible.

Neither second nor the final page of this pdf are spreadsheets for pharmaceutical dispensing records. For page 2, see column K. For the final page, see column F.

Information included in [brackets] represent my own efforts to provide missing information, name counts, illegible words, or additional information.

The citation for these documents should open with the FBI’s official designation of these records, which is “RYMUR 89-4286.” Each individual page in these records has a unique number. Page 2 of this document, for example, is marked “J-1-A1”. The complete citation for that page, then, would be “RYMUR 89-4286-J-1-A1”.
