Dear Mesdames,
I have been asked by the Grenada National Bank and Trust Co. Ltd. to reply to your letter of 22nd September, 1978.
Account no. 495 which is carried in the name of the People’s Temple of the Disciples of Christ was opened on the authority of a request made by one Deborah Touchette (Secretary) and Patty Cartmell (Secretary/Chairman). I enclose a photocopy of the request. This appeared to be a pursuance of the resolution by the Board of Directors of the People’s Temple of the Disciples of Christ a California Corporation USA. I enclose a photocopy of the resolution.
The letter now under reply has been signed by two persons bearing the names “Patty Cartmell” and “Deborah Touchette”. I enclose a photocopy of the letter.
In view of the obvious dissimilarities between the signatures on the request to open the account and the letter now under reply, the Bank has been advised to obtain authority from the California Corporation for the disposition of the moneys concerned.
Will you therefore obtain the necessary authority from the California Corporation.
Copies of this correspondence are being sent to James W. Jones and Marceline M. Jones of Box 402J, Route 1, River Valley, California.
Your early reply will be appreciated.
Yours faithfully,
/s/ Derek Knight

Mr. Brandt
Bank of Guyana,
Georgetown,
Guyana.
Dear Mr. Brandt:
Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ would like to purchase treasury bills from the Bank of Guyana from an External Account at the Guyana National Cooperative Bank. We were like the assurance that the money used to purchase the treasury bills can then be transferred back to the external account at any time thereby not losing our privilege of being able to transfer the external account funds back into US dollars. We would like to act on getting the Treasury bills right away and would therefore appreciate your response as early as possible. Thank you.
Cooperatively yours,
Paula Adams
