Historical Events in L.A. & Elsewhere
- Ceasar Henderson found a bomb on the back door in L.A. – But somehow the bomb disappeared. (I don’t think police were called.)
- On a Thursday or Friday nite when John Jones [Johnny Moss Brown Jones] came down to hold services. Church was evacuated due to bomb threat. No bomb went off as prophesized. No one was hurt – Many times L.A. Temple received phone calls regarding bomb threats and times that bombs would go off. Jim would prophesized that no bomb would go off and we would have countdowns in church.
- Rocks were thrown in dash board of bus on highway – windsheild broken.
- In Philadelphia, man who was white disguised as old black man came in meeting to assassinate Jim. Jack Beam and Jim McElvane escorted him out.
- Several devious acts committed by David Wise [Former pastor of the Los Angeles Peoples Temple].
- Story of Ruthie Quinn being sought by FBI who charged her with several felony charges etc.
- The day we almost had a riot in L.A. Temple. [LAPD] Rampart division arrested Marceline [Jones], John Jones, C.J. [Cleveland Jackson], Mike Prokes then Jim Jones.
- On summer trips, in some meetings we would have BLACK OUTS (all lights were turned off.)

- On some trips we would be discriminated against at Parks & Recreation centers. All the water was turned off at Parks
- Lenore Smith would threaten to kill mom in L.A. Temple. (Half crazed woman who would make regular visits to LA Temple talking crazy. She also pulled a gun on John Jones.)
- Before we got out church in L.A., a preacher on Central Ave. agreed to let us rent out his church. Name of church (& minister) was Croach Temple. After group of ministers got together and protested us using the building, calling Jim the anti-Christ, the preacher went back on his word and asked us out of his building. However one preacher told Jim that if he would pay him some money under the table, he would let us rent the church anyway.
- Senior Rev. [Jesse] Jackson arrested in L.A. Jim Jones bailed him out of Jail.
- When we walked in Fresno in support of the Newsmen [Fresno Four: George F. Gruner, Joe Rosato, Bill Patterson, and James H. Bort Jr.], Infiltrators from FBI or police dept. etc walked the picket lines with us trying to provoke incidents. Some agents tried to start a fight with Joe Wilson late one night. (They were plain clothed.)
