Senior benches

Phyllis Bloom [Phyllis Chaikin] requested a section in rally where seniors could be placed who have geriatric or health problems. MOTION PASSED that 3 rows of benches with backs on them be allocated for seniors in rally on the left side of the pavilion,

Rally – Seat Saving

MOTION PASSED that no seats will be saved prior to rally time.

Rice chairs

The chairs of the rice workers get carried into pavilion and it costs Maryann a lot of production time to get these put back in the mornings. Is hard to do under the dorm where they work.

Rally

Various suggestions were heard.

MOTION PASSED make a strong suggestion if you (rephrased to: MOVE that we stress tomorrow that people take back the chairs they bring in. That their names be taken down and they will be given a warning if they do not bring back the chairs.

* DONNY CASANOVA will take responsiblity to be the crew that will set up the rice workers pavilion after rally.

* Maryann, Marthea Hicks and Diane (McKnight) Smith will help take the names. The chairs are being decorated with set design.

Discard furniture–Hugh [Hue Fortson] asked Maryann who said to put used broken furniture under dorm. She does not remember but said it is all moved out and is dismantled. Pat Grunnet wants it sent out to her. Okay but disposal is a problem. Johnny warned it is on the planned route the GUESTS WILL BE TAKING so everything must be disposed of and out of the way. Mary Ann wants a penalty for taking their chairs –already is: 2 wks PSU [Public Service Unit] for theft. RALLY ANNOUNCEMENT?

Guest Bathroom: On meeting night too many are using it and it is beginning to smell. Dad gave permission for specific ones to use it.

Rally: MOTION PASSED that an announcement be made in rally that unless authorized by Dad you are subject to a warning for using the guest bathroom. Others must use the other bathroom –seniors may use one back of senior center.

Johnny commented make a note that people should not be using the ground behind there or around there until after the guests are gone, or it will be smelling.

Back bathroom: Is for use of those in senior center or in ICU..medical. Others must use the #3 bathroom in cottage area.

Railings to be moved back on pavilion: Ron Talley would like to have the seats taken out around the pavilion and the railing moved to the outside of the room, and the pix moved out so that the room in enlarged and some areas are not blocked from Dad’s view.

MOTION PASSED to move the boards to the outside and make permanent seats that go there, and move the maps to outer poles also.

Side platform: Earnestine [March] suggested that we consider a side platform for Dad that would cut down the distance from him the people would be placed… many problems with this including the roof too low at that point, direct line of incoming rain from that side, etc.

MOTION PASSED to raise the dirt flooring up 12 inches now and when another section added behind that, move it up another 6 inches –or two levels, 12 inches and 18 inches.

Bob Christian abstained from voting.

Johnny commented through we can vote these things in now, they will be placed on a priority list – and a ways down the list – nor can they be done before their turn… all understood.

Incentives: In the ACAO [Assistant Chief Administrative Officers] meeting, the medical staff had commented they had hard time getting people to work overtime now that the incentive of treats had been removed. Need something to keep up the morale. Get ideas to Stephen [Jones] or the CAO’s [Chief Administrators Officers].

Paint for cottages

– CT pointed out that paint must be ordered for our new cottages and he presented a color chart requesting the decorating committee select the paint. Nancy Sines and Rosie Ruggerio names are on list to be included.. VERNETTA [Christian] TO GET THE NAMES FOR JOHNNY of those on the committee. Maryann took the list of paints from which the color is to be chosen and presented to Dad for final approval.

Cottage 30 request – Would like to get their porch steps and shoe rack painted

MOTION PASSED to TABLED indefinitely until paint is secured. Right now we are out of paint.

Flower pots: Some are piss cans, half painted, carnation & other cans are unsightly and need covering or… TAKE THEM INSIDE on the day guests are coming through. Advance inspectors see this is on their list to inspect for. Inside on that day for plants in unsightly containers.
