Dear Brother Frank,
Greetings to you, our Guyanese friend! Pastor Jones received and read your letter with deep interest in you and the needs and concerns of your life. He and our entire congregation look to the Guyanese Cooperative Republic with a glow of enthusiasm, and we are so glad we can participate in the far-reaching programs of feeding, clothing and housing the nation.
Pastor Jones wants you to feel the special measure of his concern, and to know that whatever the distance in miles, his heart and mind are close to all who write to him here. All his life, he has worked for complete equality between women and men of every race, nation and creed, and to see this made a reality is his greatest aspiration. As God is no respecter of persons, Christ’s love works tirelessly through him to meet others’ needs, and to guarantee just and loving conditions of life for all.
Our Agricultural Mission, “Jonestown” is flourishing more abundantly than we here could even imagine, as we have seen from photographs. Our people there are inspired by the selfless motivation of our Pastor, as well as the. incomparable beauty of the Guyanese land. We are blessed by a more bountiful harvest each day.
We hope you will feel free to write always. If you desire closer contact, Mrs. Paula Adams can be written at P.O. Box 893, Georgetown. Pastor Jones has your best interests at heart, and sends you the most loving, heartfelt meditations in Christ.
With Blessings and Love,
Anne L. Ray, Secretary

Dear [illegible word]
I do indeed wish to learn more about your ministry. I love Almighty God and believe in him and his Dear Son Jesus Christ with all my heart.
I have a problem, which briefly stated is that although I had my department, my Directors would not designate me Office Manager which carries with it a better salary scale and improved prerequisites. All my colleagues in the Sugar Industry are as classified and I feel some times (especially at conferences and seminars) like a guinea bird in a poultry coup.
Surely my God is powerful enough to see that this change is effected. Have been praying for three years now, my last promotion being eleven years ago but have not been successful yet. Will you help me with your powerful prayers? I shall be eternally grateful. (over)

Dear Friend,
We are sorry this letter took so long in returning to you. There seems to be a tremendous delay en route from Guyana to America, which is unfortunate. Thank you for bearing with us, and we hope there will be little delay in our mail service from here on in. Certainly you must always remember that our Guyanese friends are in the thoughts and meditations of Pastor Jones daily. He truly cares for your wellbeing, and the wellbeing of your family and loved ones. The love of the Christ is a real and moving force working through Pastor Jones.
We have heard much about the wonderful people and beautiful land of Guyana, and we look forward to the day when we can share more fully with our Guyanese friends. There is much we can learn, and we hope there is much we can do to help. Certainly God has blessed us abundantly.
We hope you will continue to correspond with Pastor Jones, as he enjoys receiving your letters, and he feels a tender compassion and warmth for you and yours. May God bless you and keep you in His loving hands.

Dear Sister Prudence,
Pastor Jim Jones sends his loving and heartfelt greetings to you across the seas. He and his entire congregation of many thousands here have come to feel very close to the people of Guyana through our work of the Agricultural Mission there, and the many wonderful reports we receive. We are proud that our young people and children who are in your nation are able to grow and develop their skills in the harmonious atmosphere of your cooperative republic.
Pastor Jones sends special blessings and meditations to those who write from Guyana, and he wants you to know his most tender concern for you and those you love. We are eager to have you share the knowledge of this great ministry, which has delivered the sick, troubled and outcast even thousands of miles away! Indeed, distance is of no account with such a powerful outreach of unfeigned Love.
Our Agricultural Mission has progressed so rapidly that we are now able to produce not only plenty for our co-workers there to eat, but also a surplus to help in the worthwhile work of nation building. Our Pastor is deeply sensitive to the needs of the hungry and down-trodden all across the globe, and one of our greatest fulfillments is to know that we can reach beyond ourselves to help a troubled world.
Our warm encouragement goes out to you to write Pastor Jones often, and you can always be assured of his interest and deep desire for your greatest good. He is thinking of you with deep and abiding love, and looks forward to hearing from you
With His Love,

Dear Prudence,
It is so good to hear from our Guyanese friends! Bishop Jim Jones always has deep love in his heart for you all, and likes to hear news of you and your families. He will meditate for you, and desires prosperity and lasting peace for the people of your land.
We are greatly excited about our Agricultural Mission, “Jonestown,” which is producing food in great abundance. It is wonderful to work for the ideals of brotherhood and cooperative life, and our agricultural workers feel spurred on by the Guyanese endeavors to feed, clothe and house the nation. They feel at home in a land which is doing so much for its people, and they want to contribute in any way they can.
Our programs here continue around the clock, with efforts especially to give those in need a just and better life. Bishop Jones is helping us to teach even the smallest child that when equality is a way of life, there are better and happier conditions for all. We all grow in our awareness because of his tender concern for those whom life has neglected or cast aside.
It is Jim Jones’ and our pleasure to receive mail from you. He sends his love and looks forward to further strides ahead in Guyana each day.
With Sincere Best Wishes,

Dear Sister Daniels,
Pastor Jim Jones received your letter with the deepest concern for you and your family. He is so glad for faithful correspondants like you from the land which has become our second home. Our Agricultural Mission, “Jonestown” is coming along so well, and we know that the harmonious atmosphere of the Los Angeles, Calif. Guyanese nation is instrumental in making this undertaking a success.
Pastor Jones feels deeply for you and your children, and understands the difficulties that you face. He sends especially loving meditations for Elvis, that he may live a good, productive life. We do not know here in the United States what clothing or others items are available at our Guyanese Mission, but for more definite information about this, we would suggest that you write to: Mrs. Paula Adams, P.O. Box 893, Georgetown. She can advise you about this.
We hope to hear from you again. Pastor Jones loves all the time he spends in Guyana, both with our workers there, and the beautiful people of the Guyanese nation. He sends you his deep love, and encouragement to meet the trials of each day.
Sincerely,
Anne L. Ray, Secretary

Dear Prudence,
Greetings from Bishop Jim Jones and all members of the Peoples Temple Agricultural Mission. One of the Project Managers of our mission (at the request of Bishop Jones) tried to find your residence in Matthews Ridge several times in order to bring you clothing from our Bishop. Unfortunately they were unable to locate you although they asked many in the community.
Presently all the clothing has been distributed that came in the shipment. When the next shipment comes we will notify you immediately.
Do to the fact we are a non-profit Church Mission and none of the members of Peoples Temple Agricultural Mission draw salaries, but work on a voluntary basis we do not have available funds to travel about. But if you wish to come to the Mission site we could aide you in some provisions. Please notify us if you will be comming.

Very kind and thoughtful friends,
Of the Peoples Temple, thank you ever so much to be so patient with me, we have removed as our children were so out of order. I being of age couldn’t control them, their mother usually at work, they got so messed up with the rest. I know you understand what I mean thank God we are much more quiet here. Peter is so peaceful he hasn’t no mind to learn his mother tried her best and got him enrolled in Central High School himself & his sister her name is Rosemarie. She is trying but still not to my approval. I have no children of my own I cared [for] their mother & now in my old age I am assisting her.
So glad for all the good that you have done for the poor. Your letter to me is very comforting I couldn’t write before as my whole body was so shaky, you told me to see a doctor but I just couldn’t manage but later I was forced to go Dr. Fredericks at the Mercy Hospital a very nice person he is so patient I only had to pay for the tablets he said my nerves & I must gain more sleep my sleep is still not of the best

My dear praying & healing friend,
I do hope your good work will go on until the end of the world. I am asking for your assistance. Please pray for myself & my poor old husband as we are left homeless, businessless as we came to town where I am writing from now, to look after my sickness and the business we were carring on in Mazaruni for the past 20 years. Things were very bad so my husband decided to go to another area. When he leave there on the 3rd of January, on the 6th a man broke the place took out what he wanted & burn the whole down with all of our food, stuff, clothes, furnitures even our dog and Fowls, all of our belongings even money that was left to pay licenses for the year so we are left without anything & worst of all the police catch the man bring him down town to our surprizlement. Dear Brother Michael,
I received your note which did not find me in the best of health, as I had a very bad cold. As I was unwell I felt very low but your kind thoughts and beautiful envelope and paper revived my spirit very much. I must thank you and Pastor Jones and all the other brothers and sisters for all the prayers and concern they have for me. And I do hope that my life will be again as beautiful as the power in my envelope. Once again thank you and God bless.

Dear Patricia,
Pastor Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple send warmest thanks to you again for your very cordial letter. It is a great thrill to hear from our new Guyanese friends, and to share with you the inspiration of our growing endeavor in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. Our people who are pioneering our Agricultural Mission there all send glowing reports of the Guyanese people, the country’s beautiful climate and fertile land. We rejoice in the opportunity to work cooperatively with the Guyanese people to feed, clothe and house the nation.
Pastor Jones wants you to be richly assured that his most loving meditations in Christ go out to you and your grandmother. He is greatly concerned for you, and your needs are to him like those of his church here in the United States. The true Brotherhood of Man is his fervent desire.
Many, many blessings follow the believer in this ministry. We have seen thousands prosper in health and wellbeing, and blessings for their loved ones, as they grow in their faith in the living God. May you too be abundantly blessed, and know the inner peace that comes to those who serve and help their fellow man.
May this letter be an open door for you, for Pastor Jones is most glad to receive your correspondance. He has neem a sacrificial and loving shepherd to us, teaching us love for all living things, and for little children and those feeble and elderly. This same love he extends to you in Christ, and shows us each day that the most productive way to live is in brotherhood and peace with one another. You and your loved ones are precious to him, and he sends to you the deepest devotion of his heart.

Dear Brother Griggin,
How glad Pastor Jones is to receive your letter! Sometimes there are lengthy delays in mail delivery, but he always takes your needs into loving consideration in the Christ Spirit working through him. It is his desire that you prosper and are well, the same as he would desire for each member of his ministry here in the United States. Because he lives the highest standard of Justice and love for all people, every person who contacts this wonderful ministry receives his same loving care and concern. Your needs and thoughts are always important to him.
We are more aware each day of the rich opportunity your nation has afforded us in our Agricultural Mission. I appreciate very much your kind invitation to spend a few days with you all in case I visit your beautiful country.
My wife was suffering from the possession of demons for over eight years. Many doctors tried and failed. I spent over a thousand dollars in different ways, but up to now, she is still the same way.

Dear Brother Duggin,
Greetings to you, our Guyanese friend! Pastor Jones received and read your letter with deep interest in you and the needs and concerns of your life. He is so glad you are doing well.
Our people there are inspired by the selfless motivation of our Pastor, as well as the incomparable beauty of the Guyanese land.

Dear Brother/Sister Duggin;
Thank you for your letter and interest in our agricultural mission which Pastor Jim Jones started some months back. We are delighted to report that the project is doing exceedingly well and that the progress of the mission has been commended by esteemed officials of your government.
We now have a pig barn, a pig corral, eight chicken houses, three living dwellings, two storage and equipment buildings, a compost building, a nursery containing 10,000 citrus seedlings at various stages of development, our own electrical supply station, a well, a 6 1/2 acre kitchen garden, and 325 acres cleared. Those acres are planted in pasture grass for the dairy herd which is to be started this spring, in citrus, banana, plantain, cassava(bitter and sweet), all types of ground provisions, corn (of which 80 acres was just harvested), and many other crops.
Next time that you are in Georgetown, you might try to get in touch with me. I am frequently out of town, but call “61592” and if I am out of town, leave a message.

In his last letter to me, he said that I could write to you to find out about the good work which you and others are doing for us in Guyana. We are indeed very grateful. It is a pity I am so far away, I shall like to see the kind of farming that is being done. And at the same time learn more of the modern ways of farming.
I shall try to visit you as soon as I travel down to Georgetown D.V.

Greetings to you all. Many thanks for your delightful letter dated 14th Nov., 1975.
I am indeed very happy to hear of the progress which your project is making. I daresay it would stimulate some of the people, who are not interested in farming. In my area here, I have been speaking to my people for a long time abut the F.C.H. Project of our country, but as far as I believe most of the farmers are concentrating only on corn. However, I shall continue to encourage the farmers to do rotation of crops.
As soon as I visit Georgetown I shall try to get in contact with you.

Dear Brother Druggin,
Pastor Jim Jones sends his loving and heartfelt greetings to you across the seas!

Many thanks for your delightful letter dated 18th March, 1976. I wonder why the letter came so late. It was received on the 31st March. Probably it strayed for a few days elsewhere.

I must congratulate you all for the progress you are making. I can see what prevented this letter from arriving earlier. It speaks of action & the deepest interest which you all have in your fellow men. I believe that is the secret to Christianity – the good Samaritan Spirit. “Praise the Lord.”

Dear Christian Brethren,
Greetings to you all. Many thanks for the wonderful and inspiring message from the 25th chapter of Matthew 5:39-40 verses, which is the foundation of the Peoples Temple Agricultural Mission in the North West Region of Guyana.
As I think of this good work and its base, I came to one conclusion, that cannot fail because Christ is its Generator. And all who work and believe that Christ is always willing and ready to help those who trust Him cannot fail.
What is wrong in God’s world in which we are living in? Men don’t know how to live with one another, therefore it is “War & rumors of war. Nations against nations.” Our Master’s prophecies are fulfilling, so we have to watch & pray and keep our powder dry.
Kindly accept all good wishes,

Dear Christian Brethren,
Greetings to you all. Many thanks for your kind letters which I received time after time.
It was a pleasure reading of the explanation given to the Chronicle (27 June) by Miss Paula Adams and Mrs. Touchette about the good works being done in the Northwest District by the Disciples of Christ. To me it is a practical demonstration of the true Christian Spirit. And at the same time it is an observation of the two greatest commandments – “Love the Lord with your whole heart, mind, body & soul” “And your neighbor as yourself.”
May God bless every member and leaders of the Peoples Temple. And may He keep & protect you all from any danger that may be around the area.
Kindly accept all good wishes,

Dear Brother Duggin,
Greetings to you in the name of brotherhood from the Peoples Temple. Your letter was received and is being forwarded to Bishop Jones who is at our large headquarters church in the United States. Should you wish to write to him directly, please don’t hesitate to do so. His address is: P. O. Box 214, Redwood Valley, California 95470.
Bishop Jones is always glad to hear from dear friends here in Guyana. Though the distance be great, his concern for your well-being has no bounds. The greatest miracles are based on faith on the part of the believer.
The agricultural motion brought about by Bishop Jones’ concern to help Guyana to feed, close, and house the people has grown intensely since he started two years ago. The Bishop has also taken in children from the area who were in need of a home. His tireless commitment to serving God by helping those in need in tangible ways is never-ending.

Dear Friend,
It is a great pleasure for Bishop Jim Jones to hear from you! Although he is many thousands of miles away, his heart is with you who are interested in the Peoples Temple work. He loves your land and its people, and sends his especially loving meditations to you.
Our Peoples Temple Agricultural Mission in the Northwest District has become a land of plenty for both our own agricultural workers and people of the surrounding areas. We are thrilled to be able to contribute our share to the outstanding efforts of the Guyanese government for all the people of the Cooperative Republic, and look forward to many years of prosperity and peace.
Our programs here continue to flourish in the many city environments in the United States that are so desperately in need of help. Thousands know Bishop Jones as a most concerned and loving friend, through whom Christ is working in the upmost! He never fails his faithful, and is ever at work to lessen the suffering of the impoverished, neglected and infirm. Many have undertaken the very special mission of adopting and caring for needy children because of the compassionate example he has set for us all.
You are remembered each day by Bishop Jones, and he sends his warmest greetings to you. Do feel free to write often.
With His Love,
Annie L. Ray,
Secretary

Dear Pastor Jones,
Once again I greet you & your congregation in our Master’s precious name. And kindly accept my warm and sincere congratulations for the good work that is being done to foster God’s Kingdom.
Pastor, I am kindly asking you to continue praying for my demon possessed wife. I realized that this is the case like the one in the Gospel of Mark – legion. But with a strong faith in Jesus I know He will use you to conquer the demons. May God bless and make you as an instrument to relieve those who are suffering from poverty.
I am always hearing from our good friends in the Northwest District. As far as I observe they are going by leaps and bounds.
Accept my kind regards for the whole church.
Sincerely yours,
C.J. Duggin

Dear Brethren,
Greetings to you all in the precious name of our good Master.
Thank you very much for your last letter; if I mistake not, was received more than a month ago. I know you are thinking of me and you are wondering what has happened to me.
I have to inform you that I was and I am still very busy at gardening. I built a garden a little less than one acre. During the rainy season I could not work on it, so grasses and all kinds of weeds have taken over. As the weather is favorable, I am weeding, burning and preparing some [illegible word] to plant black-eye peas etc. I am endeavoring to make an orchard by God’s help. Later on I shall describe my aim of the garden or orchard more fully.
If you have to send this letter to Bishop Jones, let me mention my demon possessed wife had severe attacks on Sunday 2nd September

The attacks started about 5:30 a.m. at different intervals. She spoke in different tongues. On Monday morning 16th she drank a dose of castor oil. At about 8:30 she had a slight attack at which time she spoke in Dutch.
I noted what you mentioned in your last letter: “The greatest miracles are based on faith on the part of the believer.” Quite true. I am praying and hoping the patient will be healed by the power of the Holy Spirit through Bishop Jones some day.
As the opportunity affords me, I must wish the whole congregation God’s richest blessings. And, by His help, the project in the Northwest District-Guyana will bring forth fruits in abundance.
With love and best wishes.
Yours sincerely,
C.J. Duggin

Dear C.J. Duggin,

We are always delighted to hear in fellow Christians participating in agriculture along with Guyana’s endeavor to feed, clothe and house the nation. It is truly our duty as Christians to take care of the physical needs as well as the spiritual needs of the people. For it is written in St. Matthew 25: 35-45
For I was hungred and ye gave me meat:
I was thirsty, and ye gave me a drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me:
I was sick, and ye visited me:
I was in prison, and ye came unto me:
Verify I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethen, ye have done it unto me.
May God bless you with peace of mind and spirit.
Peace and Love to you,
In Christ’s Name,

Dear Christian Brethren,
Many thanks for your delightful letter dated the 24th March, 1977. I heard Bishop Jones and one of his fellow workers’ voices over Radio Demerara, if I mistake not, just before they left for their home. It would have been a real treat to me to meet them personally. However, I am hoping even against hope to visit you all in Georgetown as soon as I find the time.
I am very happy to hear of the progress that you all are making in the North West District. I often think of the deep interest which you all have for us – Guyanese. My our good Lord shower us in His blessing.

Dear Mr. Duggin,
Thank you very much for your kind letter. It is always nice to hear from those like yourself who are so positive in their thinking. Bishop Jones has received your letter which we forward to him and asked that I send you his warmest regards. Maybe sometime in the future when the Bishop returns you would be able to see the project in the North-West along with meeting a few of the members. We are get along well at this time, although the work is hard and busy the housing and crop growing is doing well.
Let us hear from you in the future please. Bishop Jones sends you God’s blessings.

Dear Christian Brethren,
Many thanks for your kind letter dated 9.1.77
I heard Bishop Jones and Lt. Governor Dymally’s voices on the radio a few weeks ago. I was indeed very glad when I heard their voices but very sorry it was not possible to meet them. However, I am hoping even against hope to visit you all in Georgetown.
Brethren, I am hoping to hear of the cooperation between the Govts. of the U.S.A. & that of our country – Guyana. After all, we are God’s children, therefore we should live according to His will. And the aim of life is: “We should assist one another.”
My dear, I am praying and hoping that my wife will be healed some day by the Power of the Holy Spirit through the comforts of Bishop Jones.
Kindly accept all good wishes for the whole church.
Sincerely yours,
C.J. Duggin

Dear Sister Duke,
Greetings in the name of Christ and Brotherhood. Thank you for your very sweet letter. Your letter has been forwarded on to our United States Headquarters at Pastor Jones request, and even now his prayers go out to you.
Many miracles have come to pass through prayer and belief in the Holy Spirit of Christ. Testimonies pour in daily from the many radio listeners and mail correspondents. As Jesus said in Matthew 10:29, when he touched the eyes of the blind, “According to your faith be it unto you.” It has always been that child like faith that wrought many miracles by the Living God through Pastor Jones.
If you wish to write directly to Pastor Jones, feel free to do so. The address is P.O. Box 214 Redwood Valley, California,,95470, U.S.A.
Peace and Love to you
