Note on delayed flight, April 20, 1977

The reason for the delay in the charter flight is that the contract did not arrive today. Jo Lambert told us that it would have to arrive by today (20th April, 1977) in order to make it by Monday (25th April, 1977). We will inform you as to new arrangements just as soon as they have been made.

Unsigned note about mail delays

Please excuse the delay in this letter arriving. There was a hold-up in the mail and in the meantime the matter has been resolved. We apologize for taking up your valuable time with this matter, but in fact, the Bishop was in the interior and didn’t even know of the letter. When he heard of it he was shocked that we would even ask after the others had been allowed in. He knew that if they had been allowed in there was no problem. The Bishop has the deepest respect for the unique Socialist demonstration in Guyana. (The charter may be delayed for a few days due to a mix-up with getting word to them in the interior about the clearances.)
