Note: Correspondent, Dr. Leslie Mootoo, is the pathologist in Georgetown, Guyana, engaged by authorities in Guyana to perform official autopsies on a number of the victims in the Peoples Temple Mass Murder Suicide. FBI Disaster Squad processed 913 bodies in rendering our disaster assistance in this matter. Dr. Mootoo was of considerable assistance to Bureau personnel who traveled to Guyana in this matter. The requested slides (scenes of deceased victims and surrounding area at Jonestown, Guyana) were furnished to the Bureau by Lieutenant Colonel T. Hermeyer, Office of Information, Pictorial and Audio Division, Secretary of the Air Force, who is located in the Pentagon. We have contacted Lieutenant Colonel Hermeyer, who granted full permission to release copies of the slides to Dr. Mootoo. This request has also been coordinated with SA [name deleted], Criminal Investigative Division, and SA [name deleted], Legal Counsel Division.
