By teletype January 10, 1979, Secretary of State, Washington, D.C., furnished the following:
Federal Aviation advises that five sky marshals will be flying to Georgetown to accompany People’s Temple members back to United States. U.S. Embassies at Port of Spain and Georgetown have been requested to meet, give intelligence briefings and make arrangements for storage of arms. All five marshals are new and are not familiar with local procedures. They will be departing New York on PAA [Pan American Airlines] 22, January 15, and returned to U.S., on PAA 228 on January 16. PAA is making hotel reservations.
