Re Legat, Mexico City teletype dated January 11, 1979, captioned “RYMUR.”
The investigation into foreign bank accounts of the People’s Temple (PT) is being coordinated by the Civil Division, Department of Justice. In fact, they have obtained Panamanian attorneys to represent them in that country.
San Francisco is alert for information concerning foreign bank accounts and when found is transmitted to the Civil Division via FBIHQ.
Legat, Mexico City is requested to discontinue any active

investigation furnishing information gained thus far to San Francisco and FBIHQ for transmittal to the Department. Naturally, any information coming to Legat, Mexico City’s attention should also be furnished.
