1. Upon receipt reftel ambassador telephoned the Prime Minister Forbes Burnham to make the offier of assitance reftel.
Prime Minister listened carefully, expressed appreciation for the offer and said he would be discussing it with his people. He said that he would be back in touch either later today or tomorrow.
2. Since dictating para one Foreign Minister Rashliegh [Rashleigh] Jackson called on behalf of prime minister to say that GDF would be grateful if two 112 helicopters could be deployed in the country. He also requested on behalf of the Guyana police sleeping bags and blankets as well as communications equipment.
3. Embassy officer is in direct contact with police and GDF in an effort to specify their needs.
