Re Bureau teletype to all offices, November 20, 1978: San Francisco telephone calls to Los Angeles and Denver, November 21, 1978.
Interview of former members of People’s Temple (PT) determined that Jack Arnold Bean [Beam], Sr. Jim McElvane and [name deleted] high members of PT were involved in beating up [DAVID WISE] in Denver, Colorado. [WISE] former Los Angeles pastor and dissident PT member, last known to be in Denver area.

[information deleted] who is supposed to have defected from church and would be very knowledgeable re PT activities, contingency plans of PT to go public officials, firearms, collection, cache and training, as well as identity of high PT members.
Los Angeles Police Department detective [name deleted] should have knowledge of assault of [WISE] and possibly location of [name deleted].
Denver is requested to locate an interview [name deleted] through local sources and possible Denver Police Department victim report.
Los Angeles is requested to locate [name deleted], through Detective [name deleted] and thoroughly interview [name deleted], also obtain background information to furnish Denver.
In addition, Los Angeles requested to obtain information from [name deleted] as to history of PT illegal activities and members in Los Angeles and identity and location of former PT members for interview.
Also note [name deleted] may also be dissident member.
