The Los Angeles office does not currently have a precise understanding of what investigation the Bureau desires in this matter.
For example, the Los Angeles office is aware that current and former members of the PT reportedly reside in the Los Angeles area, however, Los Angeles has received no direction as to whether attempts should be made to locate and interview all of these people, the numbers of whom could equal hundreds.
In addition, several citizens have called the Los Angeles office to inquire into the status of their relatives who reportedly are PT members, and some of these complainants

claim to have general information concerning the PT.
Los Angeles requests the Bureau to provide Los Angeles a summary of the investigation conducted to date, and defined the course and scope the Bureau wishes the Los Angeles office to take in this investigation.
