He stated he was contacted by an FBI agent on November 21, 1978. He said he was a very close friend of [deleted name]. Layton is the prime suspect currently being held by authorities in Guyana for the assassination of Congressman Ryan and others. [deleted name] stated he is a former member of Peoples Temple and had family members who were active members and may have perished at Jonestown, Guyana.

[deleted name] stated he was contacted on November 22, 1978, by another former People’s Temple member:
[deleted name and address], Tuliatan, Oregon.
[deleted name] said [deleted name] joined the Peoples Temple in August 1968 and left the group in February 1974.
[deleted name] offered his cooperation to the FBI in arranging an interview with [deleted name] for any information of value. [deleted name] requested to be contacted before the Bureau contacts [deleted name].
