Re Portland tellcall to Sacramento, November 24, 1978.

On November 24, 1978, [deleted name] [Phil Kerns], who has been previously interviewed in this matter, telephonically advised he had received a telephone call from [information deleted], Marysville, California, telephone [number deleted]. [Kerns] advised [deleted name] very afraid of the People’s Temple and indicates that threats have been made against her and her children in the past. [deleted name] and two daughters are supposedly past members of the People’s Temple.

On November 24, 1978, [Phil Kerns] recontacted and advised that the source of information in Dallas is Faith Kice, who was a nurse who assisted Jones in the healing aspect of the sect. [deleted name] states that Kice was one of three licensed practical nurses who assisted Jones; the other two being Jan Phillips and Linda Dunn (nee Swaney). [deleted name] of opinion that Kice could have information regarding criminal activities of the People’s Temple.

Portland is maintaining contact with [Phil Kerns] who is in process of writing lengthy book concerning Peoples Temple and who was arranging interviews with several past members of People’s Temple. [deleted name] has not been completely debriefed, as he has been unavailable.
