SUBJECT: MEMBERS OF PEOPLES’ TEMPLE IN PORT OF SPAIN.

1. Reservations have been made for agents [Claudio] Gonzalez and [Angelo F.] Class [names originally withheld by State Department] at the Trinidad Hilton, and an embassy car and driver will meet their flight. Please advise by NIACT immediate if reservations are made on an earlier flight.

2. In line with their previous tentative plans, British citizen Philip Blakey and US citizen Charles Touchette plan to sail with the “Albatross III’ when it departs Port of Spain for Barbados later this afternoon. Their plans are to unload cargo in Bridgetown and return to Port of Spain in approximately one week. Touchette has informed embassy that on instructions from their San Francisco attorney, Charles Garry, the vessel will not rpt not return to Guyana as had been the original plan.

3. [Helen] Swinney and [Richard] Janaro plan to remain in Port of Spain pending the vessel’s return, and Janaro has indicated that his wife, Claire, intends to come to Trinidad from Guyana sometime later today.
