FBI HQ is in receipt of unconfirmed information that Jim Jones, leader of the Peoples Temple of Christian Disciples of God, has been found amoung [among] the dead in Jonestown, Guyana. The identification is tentative in that persons desiring to leave the Jonestown, Guyana, compound stated that body which has wounds in the head is that of Jim Jones. Also tentatively identified is jones’ wife [Marceline].
To effect more positive identification Sacramento is requested to obtain identifying data from California State

Attorney General’s office regarding Jones including, if possible, fingerprint classification.
Jones further described as James Warren Jones, true name, white male; DOB May 13, 1931, or May 13, 1933; 5’10”; 188 lbs.; brown hair and eyes; LAPD number 1286450/J27C7007; California license R423673; last known residence 1857 Geary, San Francisco; graduate Butler University, Indiana, where he obtained PhD.
